Chicago North Spring Fling–Win our swag!
This weekend, Carrie and I were super busy. We headed down to the Chicago suburbs to attend the Chicago North Spring Fling. I hadn’t known what to expect, because I’d never been to a regional conference, but I was so damn happy I went. I had a blast. It was such a great time. I’d say that I was totally going next year, except the Spring Fling is only held every other year! Must be all the extra time they need to make it awesome.
I’ll spare you the blow by blow. Carrie gave a master class on the Tiny Art of Elevator pitches. I went to the librarian and book bloggers tea. We rocked the conference chicken at dinner with a host of brilliant, smart and amazingly funny women. We went to the Hot Nights critique session and sat in on the scorching level room. (Naturally.) The next morning was the book signing, which was amazingly fun. I stole Lauren Dane’s sharpie! (But then I gave it back.)
In the afternoon, Carrie and I gave a class called “Fromthe Dungeon to I Love You; BDSM with Heart (and a little bit of Hurt).” It was a fun panel, with a really engaged audience.
And that’s all I’ll ever say about that.
Well, okay, I’ll say that three separate times I walked up to people that afternoon, and they said “We were just talking about your class!”
It was a lovely conference overall, and the fact that it was the first of the season made conference chicken seem almost novel!
Shout out to the brilliant, funny women I met over the conference: AJ Cousins, Rebecca Grace Allen, Lauren Dane, Megan Hart, Tasha Driver, Ann Marie Walker and more whose names I’ve forgotten because I’m an awful, awful person. And when I say funny, I really mean funny. Megan Hart and Lauren Dane in particular. They sing together. They sing hilarious, slightly off kilter songs that will have you busting a gut. 🙂
Plus naturally, conferences mean books. Lotsand lots of books. But luckily, because Carrie and I are practically joined at the hip, we really only need one set of all the books. Which means we have books we can give away to y’all!
One winner will get four books from our keynote speakers: Lauren Dane’s Goddess with a Blade and Laid Bare. Mary Balogh’s The Arrangement, and Kristan Higgins’ The Best Man. (Kristan Higgins gives a really, really great speech. All the way from laughter to tears. And I completely believe she’s ready to deliver the Heimlich maneuver at a moment’s notice.) You’ll also get Susan Meier’s Harlequin duology with A Father for her Triplets and Her Pregnancy Surprise, which was in our tote bags. And a copy of Maya Banks’ For Her Pleasure, which I found accidentally buried in my promo goods drawer once I got back. Oops. But yay for you!
Entry is easy: Comment here or on our Facebook to win. Caveat–this time I’m sorry to say I’m going to have to say US entries only.
